About
Us
We
have been Native American Indian jewelry traders since 1968.
Our contacts are old friends, they are some of the finest artists
in the Navajo, Zuni & Hopi tribes. We try our best not to
show common styles, but we choose to go for the unique collectable
pieces no one else has. Every once in a while we do get some
common pieces & we pass along the value at hard to beat
prices.
We
also import direct from all over the world. Working with artists
who do very high quality work .One-of-a-kind is our motto!.
Our customers are looking for value & quality, all our products
are made of sterling with a minimum of 9.25 silver, We only
choose the best for our customers.
Thank
you for checking out Serena Silver, if you have any questions,
please feel free to get in touch with me by phone or e-mail.
A SHORT STORY OF SOUTHWESTERN JEWELRY
The Hopi silver overlay technique begins with 2 flat silver
pieces. The first piece is left as is, while the artist cuts
out the intricate design on the second piece. The two pieces
are then fused together to create an incredible 2 dimensional
design. Sterling Silver Overlay Jewelry is among the most coveted
hand crafted jewelry in the world today.
Zuni Pueblo are known all over the world for their excellent
Lapidary and inlay skills. We are proud to help some of the
younger artists as well as some of the elders to combine there
efforts to give to you our best designs of some of the finest
hand crafted jewelry on the globe today.
The use of turquoise, shell, onyx, and coral as personal adornment
by Southwest Indians dates from prehistoric times and the use
of silver by Navajo, Zuni and Hopi Indians is about 100 years
old. So when you buy these pieces your buying a bit of history.
Thanks
Again FRED S.
